Parcel Events offers a new option that makes elevated hosting more accessible, sustainable, and simple without having to hire a full service event planner.

With the launch of our new “Regular” membership at & the Table, we officially entered a new stage of growth. This “Regular” membership is for women who are looking to build deeper connections – designed to help you meet new women anywhere around a table, and be able to do it on your own.

Anyone can come on to our platform as "A Guest" and request a seat at an Official Table, but when you join us to become "A Regular" you can decide if you want to host (or attend) a Community Tables (pilates and coffee anyone?) in your city today. There’s no limits to how you create connections in your life around a table; and to make it even more fun, as "A Regular" we're bringing together the brands and women we love to highlight them and give you gifts, discounts and more all under "The Perks.

Perks is our love letter to the women we truly appreciate – from clothing and tableware brands, to coffee, travel, and wellness… as a “Regular”, you get to try it all.

And what’s a better way to learn about the women behind all these amazing companies & products than asking them personal questions about their mission, core memories, and their own nourishing experiences?

Today, we spoke to Emma & Hillary at Parcel Events, to find out what makes them tick, and how Parcel Events was founded (spoiler alert: there’s a really beautiful story there!). Read on:

Tell us about Parcel Events?

Parcel Events elevates and simplifies the hosting experience.

We take care in curating parcels filled with beautiful, well-designed, and reusable pieces of decor that can serve as the backdrop for any gathering, and be cherished long after the final guest has departed. When paired with our suite of digital planning tools, every host is empowered to approach their event with confidence and focus on what’s most important: creating memories and connecting with each other.

We focus on providing you with decor that is easy to set up, adds visual impact, and can be paired with items you already own and love, like glassware and serveware. We intentionally steer away from one-time use or disposable wares, and items that limit your event design by being dependent on the number of guests you plan to have. Our parcels are designed to be suitable for a wide variety of occasions and are yours to keep, so you can repurpose and reimagine the decor time and time again. – Emma & Hillary

What’s your company's (or your personal) mission?

Parcel Events wants to make you a happier host.

As founders, it's a mission that's spoken to us over the last few years, when circumstances invited us to exchange our elaborate events at expansive venues, for more intimate celebrations at home.

Parcel Events offers a new option that makes elevated hosting more accessible, sustainable, and simple without having to hire a full service event planner. We believe you deserve access to thoughtful decor and expert planning tools that will not only take your event to the next level, but alleviate the stress of hosting and leave you feeling empowered, proud, and most of all, happy. – Emma & Hillary

Over the years I recognized a pattern in my friends and family; they wanted help with their intimate events at home, but didn’t want to hire a full service event planner. I also began noticing how wasteful events could be with purchasing single use products that were discarded as quickly as the last guest departed. [...]

When did you know you wanted to build this company? What pulled you in?

Parcel Events was a concept that was always in the back of my mind starting around the summer of 2018, as it combined my love of event design, passion for planning, and empowering other women. I was always the friend that helped others plan their events, and event planning and design was a creative outlet for me - providing an escape from my day to day job as a producer and production manager in advertising, film, and experience design.

Over the years I recognized a pattern in my friends and family; they wanted help with their intimate events at home, but didn’t want to hire a full service event planner. I also began noticing how wasteful events could be with purchasing single use products that were discarded as quickly as the last guest departed. During a time of uncertainty and disconnection during Covid, it became even more clear that Parcel Events was a need that I wanted to fill and I knew to take it to the next level I needed the right partner. And I found that in Hillary, at the time a colleague that I had worked with at an experience design studio who was equally as motivated to leave the agency grind in search of a greater mission. Together we were able to take the concept to reality, develop the brand, and bring the product to market. – Emma

  • Life-long learner

– Emma

What's a core memory of yours about being around a table with food?

Hillary and I were re-connecting over some delicious stuffed squash blossoms and sparkling rosé, after I had recently taken a career leave to have my daughter (whose name happened to be shared by the restaurant…I should have known then it was going to be a special night) and she (unbeknownst to me) was experiencing a self-described “existential career crisis.” Before leaving for dinner that evening, I had a gut feeling that I wanted to invite Hillary to partner with me on Parcel Events, but I was unsure if her interest would be reciprocated. I had the perfect opening when Hillary opened up that evening about her career, and luckily for me she was just as enthusiastic about the concept and the rest is history. If this isn’t proof that intimate connections over a shared meal can lead to amazing things, I don’t know what else is! – Emma

What's the next thing in life, either career-wise or personally, that you're building towards?

One of our goals at Parcel Events is to expand from offering decor in kit format only by selling products individually (hint, hint, coming soon!), and eventually design our own product line. Long term, we’d love to have a brick and mortar where customers can visit us and build their own kits!

What are two companies or brands you admire? Why?

Ina Garten (The Barefoot Contessa): Ina has been a huge inspiration for us from the start. Everything from her personal story, to how she took a leap of faith and made a career change to build out her brand is admirable. She is a pioneer for women in business, and in the entertaining space. She creates a space, tools, and lessons for her customers to create meaningful connections and that truly resonates with us.

Juliet: Juliet is a female founded brand, that provides high quality wine, in recyclable packaging that is equally as beautiful to a standard glass bottle. We admire their branding, packaging, and mission and how the product can elegantly and consciously add to the hosting experience. From their site: “Juliet is here to shift the culture of wine drinking and advance sustainability for the wine industry as a whole…” – Emma & Hillary
